I was 18 at the time and I used to go to the 2 Eye’s Coffee Bar as well as the wonderful Le Macabre coffee house full of coffin shaped glass topped tables with skeletons. Note there were no yellow lines – you could park anywhere!
Visited them all (23 at the time). But where’s the Cat’s Whiskers (Kingly Street)?
Tony, not only could you park anywhere, but you could actually drive your car around due to the lack of cars driving around. That’s what always strikes me about photos of any city in that era–the space that isn’t filled in by cars.
