Great stuff, all of which makes me ask the question – why the hell does nearly every car on the road today look like it was made out of Lego?
Simple answer-it all started with Ralph Nader and then the Health & Safety police took over.
I love the fit and finish and the exquisite chrome-work on the Nissans and Toyotas of the 1970s!
@Thomas: blame Nader for making driving safer
@ Ray Martin
A lot of these concepts remind me of something else. Some of these look like Corvettes, and a few look like the current Detroit reincarnations of classic late 60s – early 70s muscle cars. There are also some Jaguar clones in this mix.
I guess it’s true that there’s nothing new under the sun.
That first one is the concept Lexus that was used in the film “Minority Report”
Glad most of them stayed concept cars, because most of them were ugly!
Funny how the designs either look utterly ridiculous or are blatant copies of western studies – like the “Acura Advanced Sports Car” which design is shamelessly stolen from BMW’s Zeppelin study. Or Daleks, as with the Honda Fuja-Yo.
The Toyota EXIII and Nissan NX 21 are excellent.
There are some seriously cool car design concepts here… i think my fave may be the 1966 Toyota Concept.
