Really scary. It sounds like a Stephen King story…
Amazing that it is allowed to leave things like that..here in Sweden that would have been impossible ….What a terrible waste..of money and nature..
The damage was done by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Numerous collections of pictures of this amusement park, Six Flags New Orleans, can be found on the web.
How eerie. The clowns especially.
Janne, about 2,000 people died and one of the largest port cities in the world was under water. Cleaning up the amusement park is not at the top of the priorities list.
Honestly, the pictures of the place would be perfect for a post-apocalyptic film (one of the shots has a sign that says “Welcome to Zombieland”, which honestly, I could actually see this place being used in a zombie movie).
A short film was made about the park about a year ago that I had seen. As a former resident of New Orleans and a one-time visitor of the park, the tone of the video really reflects my sadness from the storm and is an appropriate accompaniment to these images. You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bcja8UBtXdk
That first pic makes me want to go, “Teeeny! Teeny!” and cry tears of oil….
Neat photos, some look HD ish and some 3D ish!
Some amazing photographs!
Is it wrong that I had to laugh at the graffiti?
“Femme Roachs” “Male Roachs” (bathrooms) “Humans” “Aliens” (water fountains)
I agree one could use this for a zombie movie…. just have to clean it up a little bit first…
Lincoln Beach is tons cooler than that.
it’s so funny that i’ve been going to new orleans since i was a baby who couldn’t walk, and just last year i was there. i’m not sure if this is the six flags that i saw when i was on the high way but the more i think about i’m pretty sure that it is. i wanted to go there, but my dad said it’s probably not open yet… well now i know why lol.
Looks exactly like the amusment park level in Left4Dead 2 zombie shooter game – even has the sign “zombie…”.
