I had a subscription to Analog in the ’60s, and I remember virtually all of these. It’s amazing how many of them were the work of Kelly Freas. To this day, his use of color, and the humor apparent in many of his works, make him my favorite SF illustrator of all time.
I had a subscription when I was a kid! I only have 1 copy left, which I kept all these years because it included my favourite story, about a seismically unstable planet which is falling apart. I read it again a couple of years ago, and I was surprised at how sexist it was!!
It would be nice if you were to attribute these covers; besides Kelly’s work, there are John Schoenherr’s work and a couple of others I haven’t been able to figure out, although a little research should be able to find all of them.
Kelly’s and John’s work are obvious, of course. Possibly a couple by Paul Lehr?
Oh man I grew up with these on my parent’s bookshelf. Pretty sure I even read Man from P.I.G. in Analog. Everyone of these images brings back memories..
Wow. These covers are freaking amazing. I love retro futurism. Makes me imagine how retro our current futuristic ideas will be.

Wow, I had no idea Piers Anthony had been writing for as long as I’ve been alive! And still publishing, pretty amazing!
Yeah, Kelly’s work is beautiful. I’m lucky enough to own several prints and pencil sketches of his. He was a sweet man, as well!
