Leo McKern – the nutty priest in «Help!»
What a great film, the London locations-I think the scenes at the newspaper were filmed at the old Daily Express building in Fleet Street.Keep your eyes open and you will also see the first screen appearance of Michael Caine in a very small part as a policeman, I think. Not forgetting Leo Mckern-Rumpole of the Bailey-as the sciencs reporter.I’ll raise a glass of Chateau Thames Embankment to that!
A sadly overlooked film, compared to many of a similar ilk and time. Well worth seeking out if you’ve never seen it. CathD is right about the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance of Michael Caine, although it wasn’t his first film. His first credited role was in “A Hill in Korea” in 1956.
