I work on ATMs and that ain’t an ATM, It’s just a depositor. Probably serves the same purpose as modern night depositors at banks.
From what I can make of the directions you put one denomination of money in an envelope. Set the dial to how many bills are in the envelope. You insert the envelope and your pass book into the relevant area. I think is marks the the deposit in the pass book then gives it back to you.
