Man I love rollerderbies. They always seem so tied to the 70s extreme sport genre type films, exploding footballs and vehicular carnage, that sort of thing. Well, seemed, it’s nice to learn things are older than you think.

safety equipment was not the priority. Their skates don’t have toe-stops!
John: Toe stops are no safety equipment and just a question of skating style. A lot of RD skaters (often ones with a speed skating background) do not use toe stops.
