  I bought my first VCR before 1983 and it didn’t look like that. It was a JVC and it cost $400 (financed) and it was a front loader. Plus, mine had a wireless remote. Maybe this is an ad for an older model?

  I have this VCR (in storage of course). funny thing is, i never even knew it had a remote control. I don’t even think my parents knew that it could have a remote attached.

  A corded remote is a remote control with a 15ft wire attached. Our family had a 1982 Hitachi top loader, cost £365 new which was about a month’s wage back then! But then, it gave good service for about 10 years.

  Fond memories! This was our first VCR. I taped Live Aid on it. Weighed a ton and worked quite well.
