As someone who grew up with Gerry Anderson’s programmes (I was nine when UFO first aired), I loved this. The move from supermarionation to live action was so exciting! It wasn’t until I re-watched it many years later that I realised how dark and “adult” the series actually was – it must have gone right over my head at the time. It’s a shame that so many of the cast are no longer with us.

    Awesome loved it

Loved that show! (However, I always thought it a bit odd that the interceptors only had one missile …)

  • Far and away, my all-time favourite Gerry Anderson show. Love the vibe, love the aesthetics, love the technology, love those purple-haired Moonbase operators. Shame it was only an unresolved 26 episodes…

I have loved this show for 40 years now. This is my favorite science-fiction show (tied with Stargate SG-1). I love the interpersonal relationships among the characters, especially the Straker-Freeman friendship.

  • What is left to be said? Everyone has said it for me, except perhaps for this: why was the future not like this? It has been such a huge letdown for me. I am 43 now and think I saw my first episode in 1970 and then the full series in 1986 on a tiny black and white portable: it blew my mind and awoke long ago memories. It never went away…
