So what’s the story here?
Are these photos of abandonment during construction or did it actually operate for a time? When? Why did it close? Etc, etc…
Here’s the story…

Fantastic! Thanks for the link to reveal the history of Wonderland. What a terrible shame.
I recommend listening to the soundtrack of Spirited Away while viewing these photos.
Great suggestion, Laurel! I watched the video that was in the Washington Post article from Robert’s link and it was creepy depressing. Miyazaki’s soundtrack puts wonder and possibilities into a dismal reality. Thanks for the suggestion!
laurel you’re an idiot
Looks like something out of Scooby Doo
Actually, I think Laurel hit the nail on the head. As soon as I saw the 7th photo, the one looking down the ‘street’, I immediately thought of ‘Spirited Away’. I think Miyazaki must have seen pics of this place.
Link to Google-Maps please.
What the hell, gabriel? I challenge you to produce any iota of a defense of the legitimacy of that ridiculous, out-of-nowhere, unprovoked insult. Did you know that on the other side of that monitor is a person? Grow some balls.
Anyway, I agree with Christina and Laurel– that was exactly what I thought of when I saw the images. Reminds me of the brilliance of Miyazaki as well as abandoned theme parks in Japan.
it reminds me a movie of miyazaki
How is this a fake Disneyland? Surely there is no copyright on faux mediæval, and if there was, it would belong to some long dead Europeans
The site is located next to a major highway. I saw it going north from Beijing toward the Badaling Gate of the Great Wall in 2007. My Chinese tour guide also described it as “Disneyland”.
