Ridiculous concept, but funny.
About as ridiculous as giant concrete walls to hold water back or ships that could take us to other planets. what seems silly to us was a modern marvel back then. just imagine telling the person who created the idea for the water system that someday people would ridicule his idea on the internet and then explain the internet to him. they would lock ya up in the asylum. :}
Pray tell, spddrcr, if this idea is as practical as the others you mention, why is it not used by all water agencies worldwide?
I had many similar wild ideas as a kid, such as a strap-on ornithopter rig, a power plant run by a single “D” battery, and a car driven by cogs in the roadway that could reach velocities of 1,000 mph.
Many ideas would be practical if it weren’t for those pesky laws of physics…
One word, evaporation.
