  • No wonder we in the west are falling behind, Technology is not always as “great” as we would like to think. I trained on Typewriters, going as far as having to pass tests which involved us being blind folded with just a headset on, being dictated to via tape. We did not have spell checks and certainly erasing an error was somewhat problematic. So accuracy and attention to detail was paramount. I now work in an office where most of there staff wouldn’t be able to find the home keys little own have the ability to touch type

    That’s why mistakes are called typos. And speaking of I think Lee meant to type “to find the home keys let alone have the ability to touch type” in his comment. Looks like some type of autocorrect decided it knew better than Lee what to say. This helps to illustrate that one cannot completely depend on their devices to correctly key (type) for them. I also learned to touchtype on an ancient manual typewriter where I had to use the “l” key as a “1″ and count spaces and letters to center text on a page.
