To think that most of this was torn down…
Isn’t it a shame! They were also going to take down the Eiffel Tower but decided to keep it. Now look how famous it is.
Now I can understand the population and therewith the city expanded, and that space was needed for housing and public facilities, but still…
The Diesel Engine made it’s big debut at the Paris Fair (although it had been built several years earlier). It ran on peanut oil. That was well over one hundred years ago…PEANUTS.
I really want to like this, but these photos are truly garish.
