Amazing pictures! Hard to believe that was the 1980s.
I think they mean 1890′s, not 1980′s. That camera is WAY too old to be 1980′s.
These are so beautiful. And @Diana, that’s exactly what I said! That was during my childhood. Was the world really like that only then? Makes me feel old…
Look at the shoes. it was 1980′s not 1890′s
I’d have guessed 1970s based on the 5th Avenue show band poster in the background of one of the shots, but yeah hard to believe it was so recently even then. Looks more like England in the 1930s.
@Anton Gully
That shot with the 5th Avenue poster also has what looks to be H-Block written on the wall, it could still be 70′s but that makes it more likely to be 80′s, around the time of the hunger strikes.
Great pictures,brings back Dublin in the 60s and 70s
I remember the Old Photographer on O”Connell Bridge taking photo”s and you could go in the next day and look at the negative and order it if you liked it.
Wow….I grew up in Dublin in the 80′s ( and swam in the Royal Canal) don’t remember it being that grim
Im from Dublin and these pictures are from late seventies to early eighties. The date on the bread board of the Moore Street market woman is ’81. Dublin was as grim as this until the mid eighties for sure. Also, take into account that they are in black and white.
