I LOVE LOVE LOVE Ye Olde Curiosity Shop….My father first took me there when I was probably 8 or 9; I take my kids there whenever we are in the neighborhood. It is still my favorite shop in the city. Anywhere that has real shrunken heads, multiheaded pigs in a jar, and two mummies on display is pretty cool. Marsh’s Free Museum in Long Beach, WA is another somewhat similar store – very heavy on the weird.

Thanks for the great nostalgia here! As the current manager of Ye Olde Curiosity Shop I love to see these kinds of posts online. You have my open invitation to visit the shop- I can show you our collection of memorabilia we have saved from when the store opened in 1899 to the present. We have several letters from foreign dignitaries, newspaper articles, vintage ads etc.
