“The front cover design of Abbey Road by the Beatles was taken on 8th August 1969. At around 11:30 that morning, photographer Iain Macmillan was given only ten minutes to take the photo whilst he stood on a step-ladder and a policeman held up the traffic”

I see Paul still has his sandals on; he supposedly kicked them off at the last minute.

unbelievably realistic looking actors then! also slightly surprised that they went to the trouble of digging up and re-laying a whole road surface…

I thought the crossing was supposed to have been moved since the original picture? I live nearby and it seems to be exactly the same spot, using the angled photos as a guide.

Check out Paul’s “message” (to those looking for clues) in shot #6!

Just think all this time you never knew that a double decker bus was just behind the photo graph.

Summer in London, great vibe and atmosphere around, no Facebook, Internet or mobile phones. Friendship, music and a camera – feels great. Very cool photos and makes we feel like I was there to experience London during these times.

I woke up this morning, soaking wet, faced down on norwegian wood. Must have been a dream…
